Who you hire
Fifteen years from the test bench to the cloud
Trevor Lewis started in hardware: six years at Hewlett Packard as the primary tester for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, where his UEFI test work cut defects by 90% and his PXE boot solution was adopted by HP service centers worldwide. From there he ran systems at AlphaGraphics, leading a 48-hour, zero-downtime migration of the company's infrastructure from Salt Lake City to a Denver colocation facility.
The most recent chapter has been enterprise scale: automation, observability, and CVE remediation across a Fortune 500 telecommunications operator's multi-cloud estate of more than 15,000 virtual machines, held at 99.999% uptime. That work produced the numbers below, and each one is explained rather than asserted.
He founded Planetek LLC in 2024, and he teaches Computer Information Systems at the Community College of Aurora, where he provisions more than 100 lab VMs a semester through automation and helped the Colorado Community College System build coursework now used at 13 colleges statewide. Clients get the same thing his students do: complex systems explained in plain language by the person who built them.
Performance record
Three outcomes with the mechanism attached
Fifteen years produce a lot of bullet points. Trevor leads with these three because each carries its mechanism, and the two cost outcomes together recover more than $1 million a year.
$70K+ a month recovered
Observability cost recovery
A code change inflated Datadog indexing and ingestion across a 15,000 VM estate, with the affected logs owned by several management chains. Trevor traced the change, wrote code enumerating every affected log, built the remediation plan, and drove it through each chain to implementation.
90% fewer critical findings
Two-wave patch cycle design
A Tanium patching program built for the team overseeing lab security. Non-critical patches ship first and critical patches follow a week later, so a bad rollout surfaces on low-risk systems inside that week and never reaches a critical patch path.
$250K a year recovered
Dormant system decommissioning
Inside the same program, Trevor identified more than 1,000 systems idle for over two years and decommissioned them along with the infrastructure supporting them. The recovered spend is annual and recurring, not a one-time write-off.
Attribution, stated plainly Every enterprise figure above was delivered by Trevor Lewis as an employee of a Fortune 500 telecommunications operator, not under a Planetek contract. He is the engineer you would be hiring.
Proof of work
A résumé you can open and inspect
Anything on this page could be asserted; the AWS Boardwalk exists so it does not have to be taken on faith. Trevor designed, built, and operates twelve production AWS environments at demos.planetek.org, spanning serverless applications, containers, event-driven messaging, data analytics, and generative AI. Nine run continuously. Three keep their evidence pages up and deploy their billing backends for scheduled walkthroughs, which is part of how the whole estate metered $12.23 in AWS usage in July 2026.
Every environment's Terraform is public in one GitHub monorepo, along with the CI workflows that deploy it and the verify suites that check it. Deploys run keyless through GitHub Actions OIDC, and Checkov and Trivy scan every commit.

Capacity
A deliberately small firm
Planetek is one engineer by design. It keeps few concurrent engagements and writes committed hours into each proposal, with a named subcontractor available when scope calls for more hands. The review a second engineer would give is automated instead: security scans gate every commit, and each site carries a verify suite that exercises the live deployment, more than 50 automated checks on this one alone. The engineer who scopes the work is the engineer who ships it.
